Why the Hike in M2 Highway Toll Charges?
- Promoting digital toll collection: NHA aims for a 100% M‑Tag system on motorways.
- Reducing toll booth traffic: Faster, more efficient throughput reduces congestion.
- Encouraging compliance: A sharp penalty nudges motorists toward proactive M‑Tag use.
What This Means for Businesses, Fleets, and Frequent Travelers
For companies that rely on transportation, these revised toll charges can directly impact operating costs.
Businesses that may feel the impact include:
- Logistics companies
- Delivery services
- Transport operators
- Ride-sharing services
- Companies managing vehicle fleets
This is especially important during annual income tax return filing, where properly documented transport expenses help maintain accurate financial records.
