  • Any organizations or corporate entities that do not fall under the definition of a ‘corporate member’.
  • Business organizations that have their head office or branch office in Pakistan.
  • Limited and small business organizations that can be defined as those with a turnover of less than Rs. 50 million per annum.

Here is the eligibility criteria for registration:

  • The applicant must be a sole proprietorship, partnership firm, association of persons or a company.
  • The business must have a valid National Tax Number (NTN) and, if applicable, Sales Tax Registration for the business entity.
  • The applicant’s business must operate within the defined scope or jurisdiction of the Chamber where membership is being sought.
  • For example, a business in Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad or any city around needs to apply to the respective Chamber of Commerce in that region.

The application must be proposed and seconded by existing members of the Chamber. This step ensures that new members are endorsed by credible businesses already associated with the Chamber.

You must not have any criminal conviction to qualify for membership.

  • Get the Membership Form and Signature/ID Card Form from the relevant Chamber of Commerce office.

At the Chamber’s cash counter submit the registration fee. If paying via cheque, ensure it meets the Chamber’s requirements.

  • After the application is processed and approved, you will be given your Membership Certificate by the Chamber office.
  • If you cannot pick it up yourself, an authorized representative may collect on your behalf providing an authorization letter mentioning the name of the representative, details of the proprietor, partner or director.

Chamber of Commerce registration may be canceled or disqualified under the following circumstances:

  • That a breach of any provision of the Trade Organizations Ordinance 2007 or any of the regulations in the Chamber’s Memorandum and Articles of Association be committed by a registered member.
  • Such violations could include non-compliance with legal obligations or other misconduct that undermines the integrity of the Chamber.

Chamber of Commerce membership is renewable yearly, which allows for monitoring of member’s activity to ensure they are in compliance. 

The renewal process requires fulfilling the following conditions:

  • The member must pay the prescribed subscription fee before the date as stated in the Chamber’s Memorandum and Articles of Association.
  • The payment is due on 31st year March each year.

They have to clear tax compliance that includes filing of income tax and other taxes returns of the previous year.
