FBR Makes Tax Filing Easy for Salaried People in Pakistan
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has started a new and simple system to help salaried people in Pakistan file their income tax returns easily.
What’s New?
FBR has launched a smart tax return form that will fill in most information automatically using your:
- CNIC (ID card number)
- Bank data
- Salary details
- Big purchases (like cars or property)
This means people don’t have to fill everything manually anymore.
Who Is This For?
This new system is mainly for people who earn a monthly salary, such as teachers, office workers, and government employees. Filing taxes is now faster and easier for them.
Available Languages
Right now, the smart tax return form is in English, but FBR is also working on versions in:
- Urdu
- Sindhi
- Pashto
These will help more people understand and use the system.
Deadline
- You can start using this new system from July 1, 2025.
- The last date to file your tax return is September 30, 2025.
What Officials Said
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that this change will make it easier for people to follow tax laws. He added that people who file taxes are helping the country grow.
FBR Chairman Amjad Zubair Tiwana said that this is just the beginning. FBR will keep making tax filing even easier in the future, and more updates are coming soon.
